Your browser does not support the audio element.

Honey is more than just regular white table sugar - it contains many unique beneficial components:

Honey doesn’t splash when you hit the surface with a spoon. This is a way to check if it’s adulterated

Look for honey from local beekeepers. This makes it easier to avoid fake or adulterated honey

Scoop up honey with a wooden spoon. Avoid contact with metal

Avoid mixing honey with liquids heated above 40-50℃

It’s great to eat honey with fresh lemon juice

A small amount of honey with a pinch of salt before workout can boost energy

If you drink milk, it’s great to mix it with honey before going to bed

Honey varies in color, smell, and flavour - there is no single “true” type

Walnuts soaked in water and served with honey are heavenly

A mixture of fresh ginger and lemon juice, plenty of honey, a pinch of red pepper, and a visit to the bathhouse - that’s pure pleasure

Product cart

Food is one of the main bases of health, on par with activity and sleep. In this article, I’ll talk about the food I eat regularly to feel great. My product cart is rather limited because I don’t have much time or the desire to cook often. When it comes to already prepared food, I’m not ready to spend a lot of money on nutrition at this stage of my life. So, here’s what I usually eat, grouped by categories:

Protein: meat, eggs, Greek yogurt

Vegetable store: dates, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, onion, garlic, ginger, lemon, greens, green buckwheat, cabbage

Sweets: halva, honey, gozinaki

Carbs: porridge, brown rice, potatoes in their skins

Bread: rye bread

Fats: melted butter, coconut oil

Haram‑food

In the next section, I’d like to discuss why I prefer some of the foods listed above. But first, it’s important to mention foods that are bad for human health and explain why. I’ve separated them into categories:

Synthetics - all processed foods from supermarkets, such as fast food: burgers, hot dogs, chips, sodas, etc.

Trans fats - an industrial poison that causes many illnesses, like cancer, diabetes, cellulite in women, cardiovascular diseases, digestive problems, and more. This category includes fast food, margarine, semi‑finished products (sausages, frozen cutlets, ham), sweets (chocolates, ice cream), sauces (mayonnaise and ketchup), popcorn, etc.

Sugar - all sweets that contain white table sugar, which requires much more energy to digest compared to natural glucose and fructose.

White bread - thickens the blood and stays in the stomach for a long time.

Pasteurized milk products - should be avoided. In my opinion, milk products should be fresh and natural, straight from the hands of farmers.

Benefits of natural food

I believe that a healthy diet should firstly avoid harmful foods and secondly include the products I’ve mentioned in my food cart. Let’s look at the benefits of these foods:

Raw onion. As Jason Statham says, “Meat without raw onion is like going to the bathroom without passing gas.” More importantly, raw onion boosts testosterone and helps digest heavy foods like meat or pizza.

Garlic. Similar to raw onion, garlic supports digestion and, in my experience, may enhance vitality.

Fats. These provide energy. Of these, I prefer two: melted butter, for its smell and the taste it gives to porridge, and coconut oil - one of the best natural products you can include in your diet.

Halva and gozinaki. Both contain sunflower seeds, making them high‑calorie. For instance, a 350 g pack of halva contains 550 cal per 100 g, so it’s 1925 cal in total - and it’s cheap too.

Porridge. I’ve been eating porridge for breakfast every morning since my teenage years. It gives me energy for at least half the day. I usually eat oatmeal and cereal mixtures like Suvorov’s porridge and Pavlov’s porridge.

Potatoes in their skin. I don’t remove the skin from potatoes because most of the vitamins are found there.

Pumpkin seeds. These seeds contain vitamins and minerals such as zinc, magnesium, and plenty of protein and fat. They’re a real “men’s food”.

Meat and eggs. They need no explanation - they’re the source of muscles, strength, and health.

Rye bread. When eaten with the main meal, it adds calories and enhances the taste. For example, if you eat soup like Slavonian borscht, rye bread makes you feel more satiated.

Tea and water. The human body consists of about 80 % water, so it’s good practice to drink approximately 2–5 L of water per day to maintain proper hydration. Among various teas, I prefer Puer, Ivan‑tea, Altai tea, and Oolong.

Cabbage. It’s one of the best ways to decrease the level of estradiol.

Mushrooms, especially those dried in the sun for a couple of days, are rich in vitamin D.

Spices: salt, pepper, and cloves. They improve breath and enhance the flavour of meals. Cloves, for instance, I use regularly as a natural mouth freshener.

Conclusion

So, as it seems, some foods can be beneficial for human abilities and health, whereas others may decrease testosterone levels and overall vitality. To tell the truth, sometimes I eat processed foods from the supermarket, sweets, and so on - because I live in a city - but this happens rarely. I don’t think much about the food I eat because it might take up a lot of time. I dislike processed food from supermarkets and prefer not to shop there. When I have the opportunity to afford more than I can now due to financial reasons, I’d like to eat meat from animals, fresh fruits and vegetables, and honey from my own apiary. That’s one of my dreams. I miss living in nature and breathing fresh air.
